Executory certificate of hidalguía at the request of Fernando de Céspedes Oviedo, neighbor of the place of Velicena and city of Granada / Certification of the King of Arms of Philip IV, Diego de Urbina, of the lineage of the Oviedos de la Rua, of Oviedo.

Sobrecarta of an executory certificate of nobility at the request of Don Fernando de Céspedes Oviedo, neighbor of the place of Velicena in the city of Granada.
Accompanied by the certification of arms and lineage by the king of arms of King Philip V, Diego de Urbina. Sealed with the seal of his office and signed in Madrid on April 13, 1622. Seal of the Villa de Madrid, given by its public notary.
Manuscript on parchment, includes two full-page illuminated folios with the image of the Immaculate Conception, dressed in pink tunic and blue mantle, crowned by twelve stars standing on a crescent moon in crescent. In the lower corners images of St. Peter and St. James and in the upper part the Virgin crowned in majesty, and a crowned Virgin standing holding the Child carrying the orb in her hand, all framed by a border with vegetal decoration on a gold background.
On the following page we find the coat of arms with a miniated helmet. On the helmet image of Santiago Matamoros, five heraldic shields decorated in the corners with images of mermaids, acanthus leaves, swords and shields of Muslim tradition.
Calligraphy in neo-Gothic script with 34 lines per ruled page. Capitals ornamented and miniature in gold on red background. Portrait of young Philip IV on f. 91. The certificate of arms is also illustrated with a miniature heraldic coat of arms.
It retains the gold threads and the pendant seal of King Philip IV. Fan binding in full tobacco leather, profusely decorated with gold on both planes. Closures of laceria. The binding has moth holes restored by remounting the leather.
A very fine example of the executorias of the 17th century chancillería granadina.
